Someone just showed me a picture of myself cutting their firstborn’s hair back in the 80’s.
Back then, I had brown hair with highlights. I had been experimenting with hair color, or rather hair color ‘things’ since I was 14 and had found my Uncle Steve’s Cosmetology text book from my Granny’s bookshelf!
(My first formula to lighten my level 4.5 brown hair was right out of the book. AND, I was a closeted haircutter on myself since I was 12. So, I just wanted to bump the color up a bit. The formula called for ammonia. My mom was a Lysol kinda mom, and Windex. Windex, with Ammonia-D, if you remember that!…. Voila… Windex became part of the formula!…..more about THAT…. click here now).
Well, in the picture, I could hardly pay attention to what they were saying, because I kept noticing how awesome my hair looked. The particular shade of brown with shiny highlights was so beautiful, all I could hear was my voice in my head saying… I want that color again!
I asked Cheryl if she got to see the picture, and she hadn’t but remembers that color…
As fantastic as it was, and we could do it again, we had to acknowledge how sensational our current blonde hair is today!
What a gift to be living in the abundance of awesome hair and knowing that no matter what we do with our hair, we can always count on it being awesome.
So, not only do we thank our parents’ for awesome genetics, we thank each other for developing THE BEST product line in the world!
